Project Description
The project was to develop a specialised database and language
description development system which will support rapid and efficient
development of multilingual language dictionaries from corpus data. This
addressed three of the key issues identified in the SALT
initiative: robust analysis of natural language, grammatical
inferencing techniques, and the analysis, representation and
exploitation of (multilingual) corpora.
The project started 1 November 1993, and was of 3 years duration.
